County Building / Zoning Department

The Building/ Zoning Department is responsible for regulating compliance, including permitting and inspections, and active enforcement of all codes related to building construction, property maintenance, floodplain management, land disturbance, zoning, and other land development activities carried on within Cook County. We also perform these functions for the four municipal governments located within the County.
